Sortle Privacy Policy

Sortle is a daily ranking game that runs as a Discord Activity and Discord app, and as a website at sortle.fun. This policy explains what it collects and why.

What we collect

From Discord, when you open Sortle inside Discord or sign in with Discord on the website, and approve it: your Discord user ID, display name, and avatar. We use the "identify" permission only. We never see your password, email, messages, or friends.
The server ID and channel ID where you launch Sortle in Discord.
On the website, you can play without signing in. Your progress is then saved only in your own browser (local storage), and we do not receive it. If you sign in, your scores are saved to your account like in Discord.
Your gameplay: daily scores, guesses (the green/gray result of each check), dates played, and stats derived from them such as averages, streaks and rankings.

How we use it

To show live scores, leaderboards, profiles, and rankings to other players in the same server.
To post the scoreboard, streak messages and streak reminders in the Discord channel where Sortle was launched.
To keep the game working and prevent cheating and abuse.

Sharing

Your name, avatar and scores are visible to other players in your server and, on the global leaderboard, to other Sortle players. We do not sell your data. It is stored with Cloudflare, which hosts the app.

Advertising (website only)

Ads are shown only on the website at sortle.fun, never inside Discord. The website uses Google AdSense, which may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads and may show personalized ads. Where required, a consent message lets you choose. You can also manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com. Learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Storage and deletion

We keep gameplay data so leaderboards and stats continue to work. Your token is used only during your session and is not stored. To have your data deleted, message the developer on Discord (username: Swervo) with your Discord user ID and we will remove it.

Children

Sortle is intended for users who meet Discord's minimum age requirement.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above will be updated.
